Thank You for an Incredible Week in Halifax

NICAFV would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the Indigenous Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Train-the-Trainer (TTT) sessions held in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Throughout the week, participants demonstrated a strong commitment to strengthening mental health awareness, reducing stigma, and building capacity within Indigenous communities. Through learning, discussion, and collaboration, participants gained valuable knowledge and practical skills to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges and crises.

Those who completed the Train-the-Trainer component are now prepared to share Indigenous Mental Health First Aid within their communities and organizations. Their dedication will help expand access to culturally relevant mental health education and support, creating lasting impacts for Indigenous peoples across Canada.

The week provided meaningful opportunities for learning, connection, and knowledge sharing among shelter staff and community leaders from diverse regions. The relationships built and experiences shared throughout the training will continue to strengthen the network of support available to Indigenous women, children, families, and communities.

NICAFV would like to thank all participants, facilitators, partners, and supporters who contributed to the success of this training. Your commitment to community wellness, healing, and mental health support is helping create stronger and healthier communities for future generations.
