Thank You, Wiikwemkoong First Nation

NICAFV would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Wiikwemkoong First Nation for hosting the Addictions and Substance Use Disorder Training and to everyone who participated in this valuable learning opportunity.

The training brought together participants from Indigenous shelters and community programs to strengthen their understanding of Substance Use Disorder, addiction, trauma, recovery, and wellness. Throughout the training, participants explored practical approaches to supporting individuals and families affected by substance use while enhancing their knowledge of prevention, intervention, and culturally informed care.

The engagement, thoughtful discussions, and knowledge sharing throughout the training reflected a strong commitment to supporting healing, wellness, and safer communities. Participants gained valuable tools and resources that will help strengthen the services and supports available within their organizations and communities.

NICAFV would like to thank all participants for their dedication, openness, and willingness to learn and share their experiences. Your ongoing commitment to supporting Indigenous women, children, families, and communities is deeply appreciated.
