Thank You, Newfoundland & Labrador
NICAFV would like to extend our sincere thanks to all participants who attended the Addictions and Substance Use Disorder Training in Newfoundland & Labrador.
This training provided an opportunity for shelter staff and community support workers to deepen their understanding of Substance Use Disorder, addiction, recovery, and trauma-informed approaches to care. Through interactive learning, discussions, and shared experiences, participants explored strategies for supporting individuals and families affected by substance use while strengthening their own skills and knowledge.
The training fostered meaningful conversations around wellness, healing, and the importance of culturally relevant supports within Indigenous communities. Participants left with practical tools, resources, and increased confidence to support those experiencing substance use and related challenges.
NICAFV is grateful for the enthusiasm, participation, and commitment demonstrated throughout the training. The knowledge and skills gained will help strengthen services and supports within communities and contribute to positive outcomes for Indigenous women, children, families, and communities.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this training a success. We look forward to continuing to work together to build capacity, share knowledge, and support community wellness.
