Celebrating the Grand Opening of Gaananagdwinmigoo Safe Home

The NICAFV team was honoured to attend the Grand Opening of Gaananagdwinmigoo — “I will take care of you” — in Wasauksing First Nation on May 21, 2026.

This important new Safe Home marks a meaningful step forward in supporting individuals and families experiencing intimate and domestic violence by providing safety, care, healing, and hope within the community.

NICAFV extends heartfelt congratulations to Wasauksing First Nation, leadership, staff, community members, and all partners involved in bringing this vision to life. The strong support shown throughout the opening reflects a shared commitment to creating safer communities and culturally grounded spaces of care for Indigenous women, children, and families.
